This second edition of the limited-run, editioned first book delves into dialectics—the synthesis of opposites—through vivid contrasts between day and night, captured in Polaroids that are split and stapled together to depict a single scene with dual lighting. (View entire series here). By juxtaposing the warm, bustling energy of daytime with the cool serenity of night, the work explores the tension between work-driven life and the overlooked beauty of creativity and reflection. These Polaroids critique capitalist ideals while simultaneously calling attention to today’s pressing ecological crises.

Each composition captures the contradictions of a world where productivity is prioritized over creativity, and climate change polarizes weather patterns. In my work, I reflect on global ecological catastrophes. The Day vs. Night Juxtapositions series shows lightning in the sky and desert-scapes where such extremes shouldn’t exist. It’s a subtle commentary on how we’ve arrived at this state.

A standout piece, Contour, featuring the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, has been permanently archived at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), attesting to the series’s cultural and artistic significance.
